Woohoo a wedding post! There’s no hiding that I love weddings. It’s a life changing event regardless of the type of ceremony you have. One of my favorite things about planning our wedding was when we got to take our engagement photos. What’s better than getting dressed up and goofing around all day with your best friend?
At the time we took our engagement photos I didn’t think much about the poses our photographer was having us do. We were having fun, and I trusted what the photographer was saying. When I got our pictures back I realized we had a lot of the same poses and hardly had any of us just facing the camera smiling. After taking pictures for a couple hours, it’s easy to forget which poses you’ve done, and which ones you haven’t. I love candid pictures, and a more artistic feel to my photos, but I never kept in my mind that I would want more options to chose from.
So when our wedding came around I sent my photographer poses I wanted to do, and even printed some out the day of so that certain shots I wanted I wouldn’t forget about. After all, you are the one paying for your photos and will be the one looking at them for years to come. You might as well make sure you have certain pictures you think you’ll want even if they turn out not to be your favorite. Here are some great posing ideas to think about before you meet with your photographer for your shoot.
